Trading forex and CFDs carries a high level of risk!

Overview

ZERO Markets has been around since 2017 and is clearly aimed at traders who are comfortable with MetaTrader and CFD trading. The setup is fairly familiar: MT4 and MT5, variable spreads, leveraged markets, automated trading, and a choice between spread-based and commission-based accounts.

The two main accounts are easy to tell apart. Standard keeps the pricing simple, with Forex spreads from 1.0 pip and no separate commission. Super Zero is designed for traders who care more about tighter entry costs. Spreads start from 0.0 pips, with a $2.50 commission per side.

Both accounts start at $100, so the entry requirement is not particularly high. AUD, USD, EUR, and GBP can be used as account currencies. There is also an Islamic option and a demo account for anyone who wants to test the platform before funding a live account.

Pros

  • MT4, MT5, and WebTrader
  • Scalping, hedging, and Expert Advisors are allowed
  • Copy trading and VPS access
  • Good range of funding methods

Cons

  • Some withdrawal methods carry fees
  • Client protection differs between legal entities
  • No proprietary trading platform
  • Maximum leverage is not available to every trader
  • Promotions depend on location and eligibility

How we test Brokers ?

Trust and Safety

4.55/5

ZERO Markets cannot really be judged under one regulatory label because different companies within the group serve different regions. That matters. The legal entity attached to an account affects the regulator, leverage limits, and some of the protections available to the client.

Entity Jurisdiction Regulatory Status Number
Zero Financial Ltd Mauritius Authorized and regulated by the Financial Services Commission GB21026308
Zero Markets (NZ) Limited New Zealand Financial Markets Authority registration and licensing FSP 569807
Zero Markets LLC Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Registered limited liability company 503 LLC 2020
ZERO Financial Pty Ltd Australia Authorized Representative of Zero Securities Pty Ltd AR 001301717, AFSL 244040

Client funds are kept separately from company operating money. That is an important basic safeguard, although it should not be confused with a compensation scheme.

The bigger point for traders is that protection is not identical everywhere. Investor compensation and negative balance rules can differ depending on the entity holding the account. Anyone opening an international account should check the company name in the client agreement rather than assuming that every ZERO Markets account comes with the same safeguards.

Identity checks are part of the onboarding process. Individual clients may need to submit identification and proof of address, while company accounts require extra corporate and ownership documents.

Fees and Commissions

3.9/5

Spreads

Pricing is one of the stronger parts of the ZERO Markets package, especially on Super Zero. The important thing is to look beyond the advertised minimum and compare typical spreads.

Instrument Standard Average Super Zero Average
EUR/USD 1.2 pips 0.1 pips
GBP/USD 1.7 pips 0.6 pips
XAU/USD 0.21 points 0.07 points
S&P 500, US500 0.5 points 0.5 points

Those figures show where Super Zero makes the biggest difference. EUR/USD and gold are notably tighter, while US500 pricing is the same on both accounts.

Spreads are variable, so these numbers are not guaranteed on every trade. News releases, thin liquidity, and market openings can push spreads wider.

Commission

Standard is easier to understand because there is no separate Forex commission. The cost is mainly built into the spread.

Super Zero works differently. The trader gets tighter pricing but pays $2.50 per side. Opening and closing one standard Forex lot therefore costs $5 in commission, before the spread is added.

For active traders, this structure can make more sense than paying a wider spread on every position. For someone trading less frequently, the simplicity of the Standard account may be more appealing.

Share CFDs and ETFs use their own pricing rules, so Forex commission should not be used to estimate the cost of every market on the platform.

Overnight Fees

Keeping a leveraged position open overnight can create a swap charge or credit. The amount changes with the instrument, trade direction, position size, and current financing rate.

Forex traders also need to remember the triple swap adjustment that can apply on Wednesday. This is easy to overlook if a position is being held for several days.

Islamic accounts remove the standard interest-based swap structure, but that does not mean every overnight position is free. Administration fees can still apply. Several major Forex and metal instruments have a published charge of $5 per lot per night under the Islamic schedule, although the exact conditions vary.

Other Fees

No inactivity fee is charged. Currency conversion can still cost money when a bank or payment provider has to convert funds between the payment currency and the base currency of the trading account.

Deposits and Withdrawals

4.15/5

Deposit Methods

ZERO Markets gives traders several ways to fund an account, including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank wire, Skrill, Neteller, Interac, Airtm, SEPA, Sticpay, Epay, POLi, Finrax, and selected cryptocurrency methods such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Litecoin, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, and USD Coin. The exact choices can vary by country, and some payment providers may apply their own charges even when the broker does not add a deposit fee. Most electronic methods are processed quickly, which makes it easy to add funds without waiting for a bank transfer.

Withdrawal Methods

Withdrawals go through the Client Portal and generally need to return to an account held in the same client's name. This is standard practice for Anti-Money Laundering purposes.

Depending on the account and region, withdrawals can be made through cards, bank transfers, Skrill, Neteller, Google Pay, Interac, Sticpay, Airtm, Finrax, Epay, and other local services.

Deposit Processing Time

Deposit times at ZERO Markets are generally fast, especially with electronic payment methods. Card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Skrill, Neteller, Interac, and Finrax are typically processed instantly, while selected Korean payment methods can take around 30 minutes. Bank wire transfers are slower and usually take about 1 business day. Actual processing times can still depend on the payment provider and the time the transaction is submitted.

Withdrawal Processing Time

This is where the funding experience becomes more mixed. Some methods are free, while others can become expensive when used for frequent or small withdrawals.

Method Typical Time Fee
Credit and Debit Card 3 to 5 business days $1.50
Google Pay 3 to 5 business days $0
Domestic AUD Bank Wire 1 business day $0
International Bank Wire 1 business day AUD 10
Neteller 1 business day 1%, minimum $1, plus possible country fee
Skrill 1 business day 1%, plus possible country fee
Sticpay 1 business day 2.5% plus $0.30
Interac 36 hours CAD 7.87
Airtm 1 business day 2.5%

A trader making regular withdrawals should pay attention to this table. The difference between a free transfer and a percentage-based fee adds up quickly over time.

Tradable Instruments

4/5

Forex

There are more than 60 currency pairs covering majors, minors, and selected exotics, with trades starting from 0.01 lot.

The small minimum position size is useful for traders who want tighter control over risk. Scalping and hedging are permitted, and automated strategies can be run through Expert Advisors.

Stocks

More than 400 international Share CFDs are available through MT5. These are CFDs, so the trader is taking a position on the share price without becoming a shareholder in the underlying company.

Indices

Index traders can access major benchmarks such as the S&P 500, NASDAQ 100, Dow Jones, DAX, and FTSE 100.

Commodities

The commodity list moves beyond just oil. WTI crude oil, Brent crude oil, natural gas, coffee, corn, cocoa, soybeans, and wheat give traders a reasonable mix of energy and agricultural exposure.

Metals

Gold and silver are available for traders who prefer precious metals. Gold stands out on Super Zero, where the weighted average XAU/USD spread is 0.07 points compared with 0.21 points on Standard.

Cryptocurrencies

Crypto trading is done through CFDs rather than by buying the underlying coins. Markets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Cardano, Dogecoin, Polkadot, Stellar, and Ripple.

That means there is no need for a private crypto wallet, but it also means the trader does not own the digital asset.

ETFs

ETF CFDs add another way to trade a group of assets or a broader market theme through one position. Costs can differ from Forex, so the contract details are worth checking before placing a trade.

Trading Conditions

Leverage changes considerably from one asset class to another. It also depends on the client's jurisdiction and classification, so the maximum leverage of 1:500 is not a universal limit.

Instrument Australian Retail Leverage Eligible Professional Leverage
Major Forex 1:30 1:500
Minor Forex 1:20 1:500
Major Indices 1:20 1:100
Gold 1:20 1:500
Other Commodities 1:10 1:100
Minor Indices 1:10 1:100
Shares 1:5 1:20
Cryptocurrency CFDs 1:2 1:5

Trading Platforms and Tools

4.6/5

MetaTrader 4

MT4 remains the classic choice for Forex. It has one-click trading, flexible order types, custom indicators, Expert Advisors, alerts, and detailed charting.

The platform is available on desktop, mobile, and through a browser. Traders with an established MQL4 workflow can therefore keep using the tools they already know.

MetaTrader 5

MT5 is the better fit for anyone who wants a wider range of markets in one terminal. It comes with more than 80 built-in indicators and graphical objects and is also used for Share CFD trading.

For a trader starting fresh, MT5 is generally the more versatile of the two platforms.

WebTrader

WebTrader is useful when installing software is not practical. The trading account can be accessed through a browser with access to live pricing, charts, technical indicators, alerts, and order management.

Copy and Social Trading

Signal Start handles the copy trading side. Traders can follow a strategy provider and have trades copied automatically while still controlling their own risk and position size.

The normal follower platform fee is $25 per month. ZERO Markets can credit that cost when certain funding and trading volume requirements are met.

Automated Trading and VPS

For algorithmic traders, MT4 and MT5 can run Expert Advisors written in MQL4 or MQL5. VPS hosting is also available, which matters when a strategy needs to stay connected even while the trader's own computer is offline.

Account Opening and Fees

4.3/5

Standard Account

The Standard account is the more straightforward option, especially for beginners. It requires a $100 opening balance and has Forex spreads starting from 1.0 pips. There is no separate Forex commission, as the trading cost is mainly built into the spread. The minimum trade size is 0.01 lot, making it easier to control position size when trading with a smaller account.

Super Zero Account

The Super Zero account is aimed more at active traders who prefer tighter spreads. Pricing starts from 0.0 pips, with a Forex commission of $2.50 per side. The opening balance is $100 and the minimum trade size is 0.01 lot. This account can be more attractive to scalpers and higher-volume traders, since lower spreads can make a noticeable difference when trades are opened frequently.

Islamic Account

The Islamic account is designed for traders who require swap-free trading conditions. Instead of standard interest-based overnight swaps, administration fees can apply to positions that remain open overnight. The account can follow either Standard or raw pricing conditions, depending on the setup selected by the trader. The minimum opening balance is $100, with trades starting from 0.01 lot.

Feature Standard Super Zero
Opening Balance $100 $100
Forex Spread From 1.0 pip From 0.0 pips
Forex Commission $0 $2.50 per side
Minimum Trade 0.01 lot 0.01 lot
Overnight Cost Swap Swap

Standard makes more sense for someone who does not want to calculate a separate Forex commission. Super Zero is easier to justify when tighter spreads are important, particularly for more frequent trading.

Opening Process

Opening an account follows the usual online process and does not involve anything unusual.

  1. Complete the registration form.
  2. Select the client and account type.
  3. Complete identity verification.
  4. Upload identity and address documents when requested.
  5. Choose MT4 or MT5 and an account currency.
  6. Fund the account.
  7. Log in once the account is approved.

Anyone who is new to MetaTrader can start on a demo account first. That is a sensible way to learn order types and platform settings without risking real funds.

Customer Support

3.5/5

ZERO Markets provides customer support 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, which covers the main Forex trading week. Traders can contact the support team through live chat, email, or telephone, with multilingual assistance available. Live chat is the most practical option for quick platform or account questions, while email is better suited to issues that require more detail. Telephone support is also available for clients who prefer to speak directly with a representative.

Market Research

4.5/5

ZERO Markets gives traders access to several practical research tools that can help with market timing and trade planning. Autochartist scans the markets for technical patterns and key price levels, while the economic calendar highlights scheduled events that may increase volatility. A pip calculator can also help with position sizing and risk management. The research section is more focused on useful trading tools than on detailed in-house market commentary, which suits traders who prefer to carry out their own analysis.

Learn

3.5/5

The education section is strongest when it sticks to practical platform use. There are guides for setting up an account, navigating the Client Portal, using MT4 and MT5, installing Expert Advisors, working with VPS hosting, and using tools such as Autochartist.

That is helpful for someone who already understands the basics of trading but needs guidance with the broker's setup. A complete beginner looking for a structured trading course from the very first concepts onward may find the material less comprehensive.

Bonuses and Promotions

4.5/5

Deposit Bonus

The Power Up promotion has offered a 50% trading bonus on qualifying deposits of at least $500, with bonus credit reaching up to $10,000.

A trading bonus should not automatically be treated like cash that can be deposited and immediately withdrawn. Its value depends on the conditions attached to the promotion.

No Deposit and Welcome Bonus

There is no permanent no-deposit welcome bonus presented as a normal account feature. ZERO Markets has instead used deposit campaigns, referral rewards, and trading competitions.

Affiliate Program

The partnership side covers affiliates, Introducing Brokers, and professional money managers. Depending on the arrangement, compensation can be based on CPA payments or client trading volume. MAM and PAMM solutions are also available for money managers.

Refer a Friend

The referral program pays $20 after a qualified referral completes 5 trades. Milestone payments add $100 after 5 qualified referrals, $200 after 10, and $300 after 20. The total reward can reach $1,000 when all conditions are met.

Trading Competitions

The 2025 to 2026 World Trading Competition had a total prize pool of $150,000. The Final Cup ran from June 15 to July 12, 2026 and carried $100,000 in prizes, including $50,000 for first place.

That competition was already over by August 2026, so it is better viewed as an example of the type of campaign ZERO Markets runs rather than a benefit available to someone opening an account now.

Final Verdict

ZERO Markets is easiest to recommend to traders who already like MetaTrader and want competitive Forex pricing without giving up tools such as Expert Advisors, VPS hosting, or copy trading.

Super Zero is a more interesting account for active traders. Starting spreads of 0.0 pips and a $2.50 per side Forex commission create a pricing model that makes sense for scalpers and higher-volume strategies. Standard's simpler cost structure will be easier for many beginners to follow.

Regulation and client protection depend on the legal entity, withdrawal fees vary significantly by method, and the maximum leverage shown in marketing material does not apply to every client.

For the right trader, those drawbacks are manageable. The core trading environment is familiar, the market range is broad, and the pricing on Super Zero is competitive. Traders who want one regulatory framework, completely fee-free withdrawals, or a proprietary platform may prefer a different setup.

FAQ

Is ZERO Markets suitable for beginners?

It can be. The Standard account is easier to understand than commission-based pricing, and the demo account gives beginners a place to learn MetaTrader first. New traders should still understand leverage, margin, and CFD risk before funding a live account.

Can traders use Expert Advisors at ZERO Markets?

Yes. Expert Advisors can run through both MT4 and MT5. VPS hosting is also available for automated strategies that need a continuous connection.

Does ZERO Markets allow scalping?

Yes. Scalping and hedging are permitted, so short-term traders are not forced into a particular holding period or strategy style.

Are Islamic accounts available?

Yes. Islamic accounts remove standard interest-based swaps, although administration charges can still apply when certain positions remain open overnight.
